Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very fine, about the width of a thick hair, and nothing is injected. Most patients feel little or no discomfort, and many find treatments so relaxing they fall asleep.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on your condition and how long you have had it. Some concerns improve quickly, while long-standing conditions usually respond with steady progress over a series of visits. Your practitioner will talk through a plan with you.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing, eat a light meal beforehand, and bring a list of any medications or supplements you take.

Can I use acupuncture alongside my regular medical care?

Yes. We practice with a sensitivity to and understanding of Western medicine, and we will recommend you see a physician when a condition calls for it.

Is acupuncture covered by insurance?

Coverage varies widely by plan. Check with your insurer about acupuncture benefits, and feel free to call us with questions.

Where are you located?

We are at 4115 University Way NE, Suite 110, in Seattle's University District, open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
